I usually try to make some wood item for kids birthday parties in my family. My nephew recently had a party with a fishing theme. I decided to make him a fishing set from some scrap wood pieces. I am a beginner on the lathe, so I am still learning and need practice, but I really enjoyed making this set.

Cool project. Some of those fish are pretty big, you may have to make a net too. ha ha

What a great set! Love toys that operate on imagination instead of batteries. The different kinds of bark to make different fish is an inspired detail! What is the ‘worm’ construction? Thanks for sharing and welcome to Lumberjocks!

Candy – Thanks for the comments. The worm’s head and tail are pecan wood turned on the lathe. The worm body is electrical wire.
