there is a some what funny story to go with the craddle. My wife (sheri) and i thought that we were done having kids. so i burned the crib that i had built for our first two kids, about 2 weeks before we found out that she was pregnant with a new child. that left me with a delima with what to do, so i built this craddle. with being short on time and money, i used what i had availbe in the shop at that time. hope it turned out ok. it is made out of white oak and walnut and an oil/varnish wipe on finish.
thanks for looking

Nice job! I see it has a bit of knock down component with the stretcher. I like it.

Beautiful crib! That baby is pretty fortunate to have such a pretty piece of furniture to lay in ;^D .

Never thought of using those two woods together, but it turned out great.

Beautiful cradle. I realy like the lines and those woods together. Looks like a variation of the woodsmith mag. plan. I especially like what you did with the side gates. Now as far as burning that crib…..shame on you. Baby furniture that breaks down for storage like your cradle there is the way to go. Pack it away and save it for future generations.

Not knowing what the craddle that you burned looked like, I’d say that the third child has ever since been envied by your other two kids. Very nicely done! A very nice heirloom to be passed on to your grandchildren.

The book matching on the end panels looks great. The sideways orientation is also unique. I like it.
