Paint box
for my daughters artist area

This post is from the paint box for my daughter blog: http://lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/77426

This paint box was a Christmas gift for my daughter, she whished to upgrade her paint area and so her wishes from me this year was a easel and a box for her painting gear. Being a wood head and her father, made me suggest I could buy her the easel and make her the box and to this she agreed.

Pictures:
1. The box.
2. My sketch for it.
3. Wood nails and finger joints.
4. Dye.
5. Box assembly.
6. What it was all about.

I can tell you she was happy when she finally got it, it was a wee late after Christmas, but late are better than never and working with pain is not clever. So yes I am also a happy dad now.

Hope it can be an inspiration, perhaps even a inspiration to her…

Best thoughts,

MaFe

I love it Mads. Doing projects of quality for our daughters is a special thing. I’m going to take you up on the wooden nails thing in an upcoming project. I wish I had your patience to photograph and post how you do things. Awesome!!

Very handsome and well made. I always love your pre-construction drawings, they are very artfully done.

Looks like you have quite an artist in the family – her work is great (so is yours)!

Excellent !!!
Pinning the finger joints is the icing on the cake.
Could have been nothing more than butt joints. Or worse yet … pocket screws. :-(
