I love LumberJocks and I understand this is not the place to sell or overly promote your work. But, doing these keeps me sane, busy and away from the places I could get into trouble, when I’m not working my real job (paper mill). Besides I love doing them. And everyone loves their name.
Among the things I make from wood, these are the most popular. I use an old 12” Sears bandsaw with a .125” blade and freehand cut these to order.. This order goes to Slough, Berkshire, U.K.
The most popular are the oak keychains, .625 x .625 square and range from 2-3.5” long depending on how long the name is.
The desk name is mesquite. It measures 1.125×1.125×9.25” long. The back, bottom edge is beveled at 45 degrees to facilitate reading. I love this wood. It is fairly easy to work, strong and dense. It finishes well, too.
“BEANIE” is .375 x .25×1.75” and also in mesquite. I call them MiniTags and are used for zipper pulls, pet tags, backpacks, etc. These are small so I use a scroll saw.
All are finished with three coats of clear lacquer.
Hope I don’t offend by the self-promotion, but I really don’t have time to do anything spectacular and different right now and I wanted to share something. It has been a while.

These are slick and I’ve enjoyed every one you’ve posted. And I fail to see how this is any more self-promoting than posting any project. Like I said, these are slick, so post away.

Great scroll work. I don’t see it as self-promoting as much as letting us know what you are doing. There are a lot of LJ’s that work for money with their wood. You are not posting to make sales and asking for orders so you are just “shareing” your work.
Thank You for posting these.
Keep it up.
