Nice looking boxes! I see plugs on the corners. Did you screw / counterbore / plug the corners, or did you use another technique? What are the dimensions of your boxes?

Great work!

Those boxes are great, but the hinges are a show stopper.

My hand made hinges look like they were in an explosion compared to yours!

Very nice work!

Nice boxes, I really like the wooden hinges.

Thank you chesapeakebob, i no longer own these boxes but the dimensions are about 18” x 12” x 10” tall.
the box with the walnut on the lid is put together with wooden dowels, there are only 2 screws in it and they are holding the lid support arm. I donated this box to be raffled off at the last black powder shoot we had.

The one with the curved lid is put together with dowels and brass tacks, there are some nails on the inside. I sold this one.

Nice boxes whitedog, i have built tables out of drift wood i picked up along the river bank and combined it with barn lumber but that was years ago. I am always looking for special pieces of wood ( hence the name lumberdog ), a couple of yrs. ago i traded a screen door i had made for about 400 bd. ft. of spalted maple, all 10 ft. long and 5”to 12” wide. I have a friend that has a saw mill and he is always setting stuff off to the side for me.

Fantastic boxes. Love all the dowel work. Great hand made hinges, I agree with Woodwrecker, Mine are pitifull compared to these hinges.

Keep up the inspirational work.
