Thats a beautiful hunk of burl – the figuring is exquisite….It would make a nice table top, beautiful vaneer or spectacular turning blocks…
Very nice!....the turner in me is drooling and stepping on my tongue ….gotta get a paper towel for my keyboard…

Rob, those are gorgeous. I really enjoy seeing posts like this. Salvaging these stumps is a win-win situation for everyone since these could easily have ended up in a burn pile.

Hi Scott , these stumps/logs were headed to the landfill . I heard about them , and paid a trucking and crane firm to intercede for two large . Now that I am into them , they are proving to be a good investment.
For the record I promptly emailed everyone interested in turning blocks and only one person had the courtesy to call me back. It was never my intention to cut turning blocks for people. It is not really what I do. This particular gentleman (the one who called) asked for 2 boxes. I did insist that he pay for shipping.
The door is closed on this one. I am on to other things.
