I am making a series of boxes that have a more sculptural feel. This is the first attempt, a large piece (30” x 12” x 8) that integrates three separate elements.
The woods are hard white maple, zebra wood and ebony.
The hinges on the upper left box are from Ethan Hawthorne
The center and left box create a bridge between the short feet and the taller legs. The upper box is glued and screwed screwed from the inside into the solid side wall of the center box support the bridge.
Box #2 is on the bench. #3 is in the sketch book. Let’s see where this experiment leads.

Probably the most unique box I’ve seen! Very well constructed, and I’m very interested to see where this journey goes!

Interesting design concept , futuristic looking but yet incorporates traditional elements .
