My shops circle top window and door were a challenge. I solved the problem by dividing them into octaganal sections of eastern white pine joined with 1 inch x 4 inch hardwood splines and Gorilla glue. This is the only place I cheated. Everywhere else I used traditional oak pegs. I used 1 inch foam in the walls between V-joint t&g pine on the inside and 6 inch wide channel rustic on the outside. I used 5 inches of foam in the ceiling between the metal roofing and pine on the inside. There is 3 inches of foam between the summer beam and floor joists. And the picture of the shops dutch door shows my much better looking wife, who is younger than me. I’m a 59 year old retired construction worker who has very little hair all of which is very grey. And yes I do have an open loft area for wood storage with access doors on the front and back of the shop.

Nice job Rainman. How big is your shop?

Nice shop with attachment to the past. It does look a bit small for general woodworking, though it may be very suitable for the work you will be doing in it.

Love how you solved the geometry problem. That my friend is thinking outside the proverbial “box” , nice shop!

Nice looking shop. I am sure all of us have fudged some place while working on a project.
