I was visiting with a friend of mine that lives in Va. is an avid porker player. He was telling me that a lot of the players use a weight of some kind when they lay their hands down on the table instead of just holding them. Most use some kind of heavy coin or the like. Well, Kenneth wanted something different and this is what I came up with for him. I turned it out of a piece of scrap I had laying around the shop forever. Not even sure where it came from. I think it was left over from my dad when it was this shop. I believe it is Maple, at least that’s what it looks like to me. This is the first thing I’ve turned on the lathe since I got it over a year ago. Got the lathe used from my cousin who never used it, it’s a very old Rockwell/Delta. The last real turning I’ve ever done in my life was way back in the 7th grade in shop class. That would have been like in 1966 or 67. Anyway I figured it would be somewhere to start. I drilled it out a bit and added some lead to it to give it some heft.
Thanks for looking!!!
