A friend of mine had a stool like this that was made out of pine. Over the years it had become unstable do to heavey use and she ask me to make her a new one out of oak. She also ask if I could make it easier for her to identify which side the steps were on, I did this with a piece of purpleheart.

Dale,
Nice step stool. Good idea using purpleheart I would like to make one like it for my wife |(she is 4’ 11”).
Other than having the old one, did you make any plans of it.

Cool design. My wife is not vertically gifted (5’-0”), and this is a great way to add height to a stool without increasing “stagnant” footprint. Thanks!!!
