This is the finished results of a hall tree that I have been working on for my wife’s birthday. The bulk of the project is out of 4/4 oak. The frame was constructed after I decided to finally try out a kreg pocket hole jig. The back and sides were then rabbeted to allow for the 1/4” oak plywood. The shelf and hooks were added, as well as the latches for the hinged seat where there is additional storage. Finally, it was stained with dark walnut stain, shellacked (2 coats, sanded with 400 grit in between each coat) then buffed with paste wax.

Nice work. Very useful.
