The timber for the top of this table was cut here in Caboolture in 1946. I bought the slabs from the bloke who cut the tree down. The legs however I bought at a flea market for 10 bucks a piece already turned.. There is a fine stripe stringing between the boards in the top and the frame. [Silver Ash]
Mortise and Tenon construction with hand made wooden buttons to attach the top.
Four Coats of Tung Oil Finish and polished with Feast Watson Mastertouch furniture oil.

Beautiful table Larry. The string work is very nice and adds a lot to the overall appearance. The turned legs looked very well done too. Are you hiding a lathe somewhere in your shop?
Just curious. What time is it there now?

I have come to believe the only thing lazy about Larry is. He must be too lazy to go to bed. Degoose must be up and working 24/7.
How does one person get this much work done, and have so much fun doing it?
Larry I can only say you do the most beautiful work I have ever seen.

very nice looking table. the stringing looks good and adds alot to the table, even though the wood is nice enough to stand alone. keep up the great work. just wish i had more time in the shop.
