I was looking through my scrap pile when I spied what looked to be a piece of ambrosia maple left over from another turning. This platter is 9 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches high. The wall thickness is 1/4 inch. I sanded this piece to 320 grit and used natural danish oil as a finish. Sold it today for $75.00! Not bad for a piece that almost ended up in the burn pile.
