What does a woodworker do on his day off?
Work on his own house.
Urban lumber ash, t&g wall panel in our kitchen area. I started this little cabin 3 years ago and have not had a single day away from my business to do any work on my own home. I do a wide variety of custom millwork for everyone else and their homes and my wife has finally laid down the law to start finishing ours.
We are doing an all wood on wood house, like several other LJ members have in progress.

We all live in your world! Mine is great at driving me to finish projects when there is only 4% left. I like to do big projects and move on. She’ll say, “no, you just did all that nice work on the oak crown molding. Were filling in the small nail holes with wood putty and finishing today.” Yes dear….. in the end, we all know it needs to be done to make the project pop. The good thing is most of us here have wives that understand we need to buy tools, because were productive and not sitting on the couch all day!
Nice job.

Thanks for comments ! The real thanks needs to go to my wife though for her support and many , many planned sacrifices since we started our wood and woodworking business a scant couple of years ago .Life is about choices and without her commitment to see these choices through I would not have the ability to be as focused as I am .

Really looks good, Rob. I’ve had that law laid down once in a while as well.

Rob, this looks really good. I have always said that you cannot put too much wood into a home. Good luck on keeping up with your wife’s “requests”. If she is anything like mine projects get added to the list at a faster rate than I can complete them! :)
