The first project is a picture frame made from a scrap piece of 1/2” maple ply. Thats me and my wife with S. J. Sharky, the mascot from the San Jose Sharks hockey team. The other shark is basswood, not quite finshed yet. The ray is a scrap piece of Ipe (iron wood) from a deck I built years ago. DATES INCORRECT (I need a new camera)

That’s a cool Idea and nice work . There was a post about if Ipe would be to hard to carve or not. It looks like you got the job done.

On the Ipe I used power tools.

This reminds me a of project I’ve had on my to do list for a while now. I want to carve a full sized sail or sword fish for my man cave.
