I just joined lumber jocks and I thought I would try and post some or my work. I made six of these for Christmas gifts.

Beautiful work Greg. I like the detail of the compartments you put inside also… very nice touch. I really like small boxes (not as much as Don of course ;-) and these really turned out wonderfully. Thanks very much for posting them for us to see.

By the way, Jchon that board turned out great too!

The chess board look really good. I hope to make a chess table some day. Did you carve the pieaces yourself?

Very nice, Greg.

The workmanship is superb. I just love small wooden boxes; this one is exceptional. How about more detail on the wood used, the finish, and what is the small circle of that shows on the underside of the lid in the upper right hand corner in the white square?

Great boards! Any construction details to share?

Great job Greg.
I did one a while back like this.
Is it a shop notes plan?
Did you do the chessmen too?
Mine took forever and kind of put me off doing any more.
You have re-inspired me.

No, I did not have time to turn the pieces. I made five boards at one time to give away as Christmas gifts for family. Some day I would love to make a set of pieces.
