This was a log a friend from the carving club gave me. It had some checks in the ends but it seemed to carve pretty nice. I don’t know what kind of wood it is. Anyway I took it to the meeting so I had something to do, but I was troubled by the knot on the lower part of it. Jimthecarver says “hey that would be cool if you made it a cigar.”=D So I went for it. I planned on carving the top into a raincoat hood, but I have to go out of town for work, so I may not get to it for some time. So for now this is it.

cool! Nice use of the knot. I’d like to see it completed with the rain coat hood

That’s cool. What a great idea about the knot, but even better that you pulled it off.

Fantastic carving. Love the knot cigar. Gives it even more charector.
Keep it up.
