Nothing too fancy, just letting the natural Rosewood speak for itself. I used no finish, only three coats of Butcher’s wax. I sanded to 400, applied the wax and buffed by hand. Sometimes less is best.
Peace
Bibb

This is a gorgeous box. And you are right about the finish. There is little need to try and improve what Mother Nature has already done with the wood. The rosewood is beautiful in its own right.

Ooh Baby, that’s Pretty!!
I’m making a (surprise!!) box out of Rosewood right now and have been dying to see what it looks like finished…
Butcher’s wax, huh…Don’t know the first thing about it, but that never stopped me before!!
Beautiful Box, Bibb!!!

Love your boxes Bibb! I don’t know what it is but I find them a pleasure to build while letting the natural beauty of the wood shine through… and I see you enjoy the same philosopy.

The right wood makes the box. And you definitely have the right wood. Very nice.

Outstanding box. That RoseWood is the best. Wish I could have gotten in on that.
Keep it up.

You were absolutely right to keep the style muted and not to try to compete with this wood. Beautiful box. Well done.
