I saw a similar table on L-J a while back that really caught my eye. I’m sorry I can’t remember who posted it to give him credit. I had 2 sheets of pomele sapelle (I’ve most likely spelled both words wrong) veneer that I thought would look great on this floating top table. My design is a little different with legs that have a slight curve both in to the center and out from the ends. I used tiger stripe maple for the top and bottom to frame the veneered panels with a thin dark strip of ziracote between the veneer panels and the frame. The base is walnut with maple accent plugs. The spline on each frame corner is padauk and added for joint stability and eye candy.
