Black Walnut Humidor

Technically this is not a new project, it’s a completion of a box I posted recently. I decided to go ahead and make it into a humidor, so I’ve added the Spanish Cedar liner and the requisite humidifier and hygrometer. This humidor features hand cut dovetails for both the outer box and inner liner, and, of course, the Invisio-Hinge. The finish is Sam Maloof poly / oil with an outer coating of Watco satin wax.

Jerry, you do better with hand cut dovetails than I do with a router. Nice conversion.

Thanks Dave, it’s not an easy thing, and I made a whole bunch of bad ones before I got here.

Wow! 3 humidors in one day. You have been busy. And all 3 appear flawless to me.

Thanks for looking and commenting Bill. When you get ready to do the hinge, I’ve got a tutorial up here.

Tony, thanks for your kind comments and your inquiry. My website has a secure shopping cart system. This humidor was commissioned so it was sold from the get go. I can make you one just like it, or in any configuration and wood species you like.

If you want it as just a box it would cost $250.00, if you want me to make a Spanish Cedar liner for it and make it into a cigar humidor it would cost $350..00

You can see some examples of existing pieces I have for sale here

http://www.geraldlhunsucker.com/

Let me know if you want to commission a piece.

Thanks,
Jerry
