Door Handles

Project by KnickKnack posted 63 days ago 317 views 1 time favorited 2 comments Add to Favorites Watch

The house we moved into last year had no door handles – go figure!
It being a “rustic” kind of place, as you can see, it proved to be very hard to find anything even close to suitable – besides, who could call themselves a lumberjock and not be able to make a simple door handle.
I finished the last one (which is the first one of the pics), yesterday, so I thought maybe it was time to share – and I don’t recall seeing any door handles here before.
Woodworky wise, there isn’t that much to them – all except the last (which is pine) are highly polished (1000 grit) olive, finished with muchos linseed oil. The pictures don’t really do some of the fine patterns justice, but I hope you get the idea. My favourite is the first, not because it took almost no work, but because it just seemed to be lying around saying “I’m a door handle”.

Good idea.

Very cool…...would never have thought of that. That’s creative thinking.
