This is a desk I built 15 years ago for my son Tony when he was in college. It was originally made of poplar. You can see the old wood in the space between the drawers. After building his wife Alycia’s bookshelves (see previous project) I decided to rebuild the desk to match. It is now covered with mahogany and stained to match the bookshelves. I kept the original cabinet and added the mahogany around it. I completely replaced the top and drawer fronts. It took about 4 weeks.
