Made a set of nightstands and a headboard for our guest room. White oak, dyed with TransTint dye (diluted with water) and then finished with wiping varnish. Through tenons on the stretchers (pegged), and then the slats are joined with dowels.

The second picture is cutting the arc on the top stretcher. I have a bandsaw now (14” Grizzly) but I didn’t at the time and used this old crappy jigsaw…which is one of the reasons that I sprung for the bandsaw. Used mostly handplanes, only used a planer to get the slats down to their final thickness.

No metal fasteners!
