I wanted to try a partial Carving / partial Woodburning. I’m not sure I will do it again. The prior carving restricts the woodburning (I guess if the carving part is perfect, you dont have that problem :). I don’t know if I will try this again or not. I had a long piece of Cedar left over from another carving (That isn’t finished) and found a use for it in this piece. Its 10” wide and 34” long. I finished it with Polycrylic.

Very nice looking and you capture the curious look that otters have.

You don’t seem completely pleased with this piece, but I have to say that I really like the mixed medial combination of burning/carving. The sleek seal slipping into more turbulant water. I like the opposition there. I think if the opportunity arises you should try more of this technique. :)

Maybe I will. I like the piece, I just see a lot of flaws in it. I’m sure I would get better at it if I continued to experiment. Thanks for the nice comment.
