Almost finished with my miter sled. Had some walnut about the shop and loved the Fancy Miter Sled another LJ posted on here. It’s Birch with walnut trim and fences. The fences are mounted with 1/4 bolts with one side of the bolts epoxied into the fences and the other side of the bolt goes through the base and is locked in place. I wanted to be able to replace the fence someday or be able to adjust it if it’s off.
I think I’m going to finish it with polycrilic though I’m not quite sure at this point.

I have found Tried & True to be a nice finish for jigs. Protects the wood but doesn’t have a thick coating. Easy to repair if scratched.
The walnut is striking, really sets off the sled.

Brad, this is a nice looking sled that you have built. The walnut trim adds a nice look to it and making the fence adjustable is a good idea. I really did not realize what was missing from my shop until I built one. I am sure you will find this to be an indispensible tool for your shop.
One suggestion I would have would be to add a block as a blade guard to the rear fence.
