A quick shelf for my wife’s cookbooks . 10 feet long , reclaimed alder ,tung oil .Can you see the joints in this layup ? It is not one slab , all coloration is natural .Will be suspended from open beam ceiling .

Thanks for the comments. I posted the pics because I thought this wood looked pretty good for plain old alder – and actually I’m a better cook than she is .

Arbor tech tool , Dremmel tool , Japanese spoon plane .You might want to look at some of my earlier posts where I blend natural edges on other projects .Thanks everyone for the comments .

Great job. Hope it holds up with the ends glued together. I never tried that with that long of a piece.

Could you please sent me the titles of the cookbooks that you plan to put on that 10’ shelf. All of my cookbooks will fit on a 4’ shelf.
