This is a Bullock murphy wall bed that was completed in September 2009. This bed is our most popular style Murphy wall bed. It features a solid maple raised panel front section. This is designed to resemble eight doors on a cabinet. The finish is a Dark Walnut stain from Minwax. It has a standard crown and a base molding made from 5 1/2” crown (a little modification).
Here are some of the recorded raw videos of the build

We’ve had our Murphy Bed for a number of years. I always appreciated the beauty and the detail of its cabinet and its wing shelving/drawer units.
But … as I started playing around with wood, myself, I got a much deeper understanding of how intricate a project like this really is, and just how much time, talent, patience, and attention to detail really went into creating it.
So … bravo to you!

Awesome bed. Did you make the bed side rails from the solid maple maple also?

No the side rails are plywood. They can’t be anything but plywood because of the stress.
