Here’s my first attempt at segmenting. 10” high, Walnut, Cherry and Maple.
Currently, I’m turning mostly pens, acrylic and wood.

Nice looking mill. Did you make a salt shaker to go with it?

Great job. Keep it up.

Thats a great looking peppermil

I’m guessing 36 slices that would make it calculatable in a 360 deg circle.

Great idea and it eliminates boring a hole all the way through the mill if you leave the center open.

Fantastic looking peppermill. I’ll bet the pieces were all laminated up and the the center was bored out and the outside turned. Am I right? That’s how I would do it. I’m going to add to my favorites and do one. I have many thin pieces of wood that I was wondering what to do with them. Now I know. Thanks for this post.

Thanks for all the complements.

Here are a few tips:
- Quantity of 24 of the Maple pieces .105 x .830 x length req’d
- Quantity of 12 of the Walnut pieces made from .875 mat’l 82.5 degree cuts on each side x length req’d
- Quantity of 12 of the Cherry pieces made from .875 mat’l 82.5 degree cuts on each side x length req’d
- Lay pieces side by side on tape, applying glue to each side of all pieces
- Roll up and tape to secure the assembly
- Using 4 -5 automotive style radiator clamps, place on assembly
- Before tightening hand squeeze assembly to reduce size of diameter, lots of glue will drip
- Make sure that all staves are flush on the outside of the assembly
- Turned and finished with Velvit Oil
