Thought I would take some inspiration from “Scrappy”s” remarks on my last project and use up some small scrap pieces of wood to create these small lidded boxes. All are under 5” tall from base to top of finial.
Wood used: Picture 1 English Elm
2 Unknown – from packing case
3 Red Gum
4 Unknown – from packing case
5 Black hearted Sassafras
6 Tasmanian Myrtle
The packing case was used to bring slate tiles from India, any ideas on type of wood please.

Very fine turnings. All are very nicely done. Great designs with a mixture of styles. Some of your wood sounds like most of mine “unknown from crate/pallets” I get a lot of my wood from pallets and can only gues at what it is.
Great use of those little scrap pieces, you just can’t make yourself toss out. I like the captured ring designs. Haven’t tried one of those yet.
Keep up the fantastic work.
