A well house, a collection of turnings and a big spalted turning A well house, a collection of turnings and a big spalted turning A well house, a collection of turnings and a big spalted turning Click the pictures to enlarge them

The first pic is of a well house I made to cover the pump at my brother’s place at Houghton Lake. It has about 6 inches of insulation surrounding the pump, plus a small heater that runs all winter. The bottom is made of 3/4 treated plywood and 2×4 treated frame. The top is all cedar except for the shingles and the thermometer. The next pic is a collection of bowls that used to be in my portfolio. Somehow got lost. The third is a big spalted maple bowl with a little ebony and a little bit of plane maple for a finial.

A little carpentry – a little turning; what could be better than that, Mate?

Curious – is it he bowls that you lost, or the pictures?

Thanks for asking buddy. The cancer tests came back negative but I have to take another pill to help shrink my prostate so I can go to the bathroom. They were amazed how much I could go after they went up in me with a camera. I just have a slow flow and ED. They gave me Levitra for that which did’nt work, now they’re talking about implants. I told em na, I can live without it. I’ll just keep busier in the shop, LOL. I guess I could have been a priest afterall. Thanks for the prayers. Buds, Mike

They think the ED is a broken nerve from when I fell. In my back that is. It’s been since 03. So it makes sense. Not something I’m comfortable talking about, but it’s more and more an accepted thing, the surgery they offered is not an option for me. I won’t do it for nothing. I’ll take up knitting. mike

It’s great to see more of your work. I like them all. A positive outlook works wonders when applied to whatever you focus them on. My prayers are with you.

I’m glad your doing better now Mike. I haven’t been on LJ’s as much lately.
I’m glad to see you entered this contest. I really like the large turning, it’s a nice design.
