I wanted to have a modular tool rack but I don’t like pegboard. Hangers tend to fall out or you need access to the rear to screw stuff in so I decided to go overboard on the French cleat front….
All that’s left to do is polyurethane it and make the tool hangers, intend to build another one.
Tool hangers ‘sag’ a little bit – so will mount them on a piece of 7mm plywood and mount the cleat on the back.

Nice. What is it made of? How did you make the grooves?

Made of 9mm plywood. Cut slats on the table saw which are screwed / glued to the back panel

Very nite tool rack. This is a great addition to a shop.
I believe the build-up slats act as French cleats?
Best,
Serge
