A friend of mine’s wife purchased these table legs some years ago. He asked if I thought I could do something with them. That was a couple years ago. I’ve kept putting it off and putting it off due to the issues I know I will encounter with the tenons that hold the rails to the legs and that I just hadnt gotten around to ordering some Mahogany to start the project.
A few weeks ago I started the top. Using 6” x 48” x 1” Mahogany lumber I jointed one side and two edges flat and square. I then planed the second side flat and parallel to the first side. I then used biscuits and glued four planks edgewise to each other, alternating the growth rings to minimize cupping.
I have figured out how to cut the tenons and am in the stage of the build right now.
I am having some difficulty flattening the top at this time.
