I needed some place to work. With the assistance of my brother, this bad boy went together in about no time, flat.

We used 1/8” Masonite as a disposable/replaceable top. It sits atop two sheets of 3/4” ply.

The thing would survive a nuclear blast, intact, but … it’s already begging for expansion. I’ll get to that!

Good start, you’ll never have enough work space or cabinets. Keep up the good work.

I built almost this exact same bench two years ago and (with expansions and upgrades) I am still using it.

Hey, looks great from here, you’ve got a sturdy place to make stuff. And you have some storage on the wall behind it. Just call it workbench Mark I when you upgrade it.

PS Welcome to LJs!

It all starts some place.
Here is a drawing of one I’m working on. The top adjusts for height and the lower interior will have drawers and doors.

notottoman: that’s a great idea.

I have to set up the bandsaw, seeing how much floor space that leaves me, but … then … clearly, I need more room for assembly.

Thank you.

Oh … I’m pretty sure you’re NOT an honest man, Jeremy.

Pretty sure.

An insult from you feels like a compliment from a better person, so … many thanks for the compliment.
