This was great fun to build, finding a great maple burl piece for the lid, I then built a contoured box around it. Walnut for box body, with felt liner.

This box is absolutely just beautiful. One question; did you match your three pins on the back as well? I was unable to see if you did.

The pins on each side are mini-x stepped dowels, these help hold the ends to the sides. Plus they look nice and finished. I usually glue box together, then before contouring the outside, I drill the dowel holes and glue them in. On some projects, I leave them long, for an added element. Hope that helps.
