As my Son is moving into his house and he decided he wanted a place for his stereo and video game systems. Of coarse he came to Dad. He was really particular about what he wanted. First it had to be the same height as his fireplace mantle and be trimmed similar. next it had to match his floor. Also it had to be easy to hook everything up and have lots of room. I think I got it pretty close. First sizing and the mantle match, I bonded the top boards to form a mantle and he found some trim in the house that I used to trim with. The stain is red oak and gave it a very short soak time, wiping it off quickly so to not be as dark. I cut the back to recess his sub-woofer and amp. It made me proud he wanted a Dad project in his house and he really liked it.

Looks like it fits, the right height, the stain matches the floor and I bet the price was right. Really a nice job on it Jeff.

Thanks for the comments. Nothing I like better then doing projects for my Son. This one was bigger then most projects I do but a lot of fun. He even helped me out on several steps.

Jeff, your son is really fortunate to have a dad as talented as you are. The stereo/game center looks great!!

Great job, Jeff! AND he helped? Even better. Now he’s going to tell everyone that sees it “My dad and I made it.”!
Thanks for sharing.
