this is my first carving well really my second my first was a 5 inch long 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 squar piece of red ceder that i had to carve round to the size of a quarter all the way along it the guy that was showing me how to carve he made me do that first to learn the proper control on the carving knife, but any ways this is my first real carving been a few years ago but have to hold onto your first if you know what i mean

Looks good man…the nice curves in the tongue and the toe make it really come to life. Nice work!

Great carving. You’d never know it was a first by looking at it..

Nice job byron! A boot like this was my very first carving of any kind also.

That looks familiar! Nice work!

My husband’s very first carving was the same boot also. It took him 62 hours to carve it. (I can’t say he’s gotten any faster.) Maybe my husband, Les and you all had the same teacher!

Now all you need are an old woman and a bunch of kids hanging out of the top. Nicely done…and fun.
