My first chevron cutting board. From the outside inward, it is made with walnut, curly maple, cherry, and padauk.

I ended up finishing it with Mineral oil and beeswax.

Phenomenal!

Did you have access to a drum sander? I’m curious about making cutting boards, but don’t have access to a drum sander and that’s why I ask.

Nice job!

I do not have a drum sander, planer or jointer. I use my tablesaw to cut the strips of wood and glue them together. After the glue dries, i use a hot glue gun to fix them to a piece of MDF, and use my router as a planer and level both sides. Followed up with sanding with my orbital palm, and finish it up with mineral oil and bees wax.

Have your say...
