My Niece recently gave birth to twin boys. The most amazing part of all this is that she is 50. Yes, you see that correctly, she is FIFTY years old and just had twins ! Both boys are doing fine and my sister (the boys Nana) couldn’t be happier, and she is a twin herself!

Anyhooo, I made name plates for each of the boys. Jacob and Reider (say “Ryder” ) It’s mostly bandsaw work with a bit of chisel work and a good bit of sanding.

Jacob’s choo-choo is cedar. Reider’s semi-truck is made of oak. It’s actually 3 pieces, the cab, the trailer, and the name, then glued together. All the wheels are from pieces of oak with a dark stain. Both are finished with 6 or 8 coats of rattle-can lacquer.

Very nice, Granduncle Joe. (Most people think “Greatuncle.” I believe greatness is as greatness does. I guess you could be both.) Is Fifty your oldest niece? My oldest will be 46 this year. She made me an uncle when I was eight. I’ve never forgiven her for that.

Nice, Joe, nice. It looks like you’ve been busy. I reckon with them two boys growing up you’ll be plenty busy in the future. Congrats, buddy.

Nicely built trucks for a special occasion. Twins at fifty, wow, that’s a great project of it own. Wishing the best to the parents and family.

Congratulations to your family!! :) Nice name plates…. which I assume are going to be the first of many neat prezzies you make for your new grand-nephews!

I’m a little late to the party, Joe. Great job on the names, Uncle Joe! Your niece has her hands full. Congratulations all around!
