A couple of keepsake rattles one in Holly wood and the other is Apple wood and both are finished with Chestnut food safe oil. Both have been made so that no part will fit into a 1 1/4” hole. But re-reading all the blurb (here in the UK) because the smaller ends are spherical in shape they should be larger so that is why these are being given as Keepsakes and not to be used

The join is on one of the burnt lines at the bigger end while it is separated I hollow that end out, and add the rattle then glue back together before finishing the outer turning
