Nothing that challenging or exciting with these pieces, but I like the holly wood I used…”Deck the Halls with…..”, so the right choice of wood for the snowflake color and appropriate for Christmas as well. I double stack cut these and then sanded and applied gloss Deft spraying lacquer. The pattern came from a recent Scrollsaw Woodworking magazine. We gave to friends we visited for New Year’s parties.

Simple, clean and attractive…
Joel, where from you get Holly?
Thanks.

Hey Ragim,

A local sawyer near me has a decent supply of it…it is however not pure white holly, which i have a few small planks myself of pure white. These have a slight grayish/blueish stain to them, which in some applications, like these is fine. From what I researched, Holly harvested in warm weather will stain some, when it is harvested in the Winter, it stays closer to it’s pure white form. If you want I can get you his information, he is very reasonable with prices.

Thanks for answer.
I live in Israel, so one and only option for me is an on-line buying.
Is this possible with your local sawyer?

I don’t think so, it’s a small operation and not sure how computer savvy he is…

Nicely done. I like the white wood. Have never used holly but do use aspen and soft maple that can be found in white.

Beautiful and the Holly wood id perfect for it. The only Holly I have been able to get is “pen blank” size.
