This was a really fun project, a lot of firsts for me trying out different techniques. I made a quick jig to do splined miter joints for the sides, which I filled with a mix or red heart, purple heart, and osage orange. This was also my first time using a dado for the box bottom, which i’m kicking myself for not trying sooner.

The epoxy was mixed with a pearl powder for automotive paint, for the lid I wanted to loosely mimic a riverbank so I poured two layers, one colored one clear layer above to set everything in.

I really like the woods you chose! I’m working on a similar type project currently, this one gives me some good inspiration.
