I downloaded a map of the lake from MN’s Lakefinder. Transferred the image onto an old slice of pine log, a big slice. Instead of the normal 12-3-6-9 numbers, I made the clock North-South-East_West, and burned it in along with the lake. I had to router out a hole for the clock mechanism in the back because the log slice was too thick, and bend the hands a little. I also dabbed a little red paint onto the black hands so ya could see them…......It’s still keeping time, but don’t ask me what direction I’m going…..

Nice Sandy and very unique too. I lived in MN back in 1945 on my grandparents farm near Onamia. Keep up the good work!

This a a really interesting idea- and made a unique clock. :) Is the lake raised up a bit or is it level with the log and just burned in? And how thick is the slab?

Nice design and cool idea. Now when someone asks the time do you say a quarter to North or West- thirty?

Thanks for sharing the idea!!..........................Jim

Ha. On this clock it is always time to “go fishing”.
