I sawed some branches up, routered out a hole 3/4” deep and put either a metal or leather hinge on them. The designs are either burned on or I used a fine magic marker for some. Glued felt on the inside. For some I made a leather hasp with a small stick going through to hold it shut. Some I drilled a hole in both the lid and the bottom and placed a wood dowel so that it would swivel open.

Very cool! I really love the idea. How much time does it take per trinket box? Seems like a fun…”between big projects”...project.

Very nice boxes. Love the look of the live outside edges. The leather hinges are a good idea. Might have to try thet hinges out.
Have you had any problem with cracking? These still look fantastic.
Great designs adding even more pop to the box itself.
Keep it up,
Scrappy
