This is my first attempt at a band-sawn box. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the lid, which is what actually dictated the exterior shape and, ultimately, gave the box its name! Since I gave it to my best friend, I can get a picture and add it to the existing gallery later.
The lid is of walnut and had a beautiful figure in it. I followed the contours of the figure in creating the exterior shape. Lo and behold, it ended up looking like a foot when it was done! The other three woods used were iroko, lenga (Chilean cherry) and purpleheart.
