The wife has been asking for some more wooden spoon, simple enough to make some simple wooden spoons but for Christmas I think it had to be alittle special. Took two days to carve this spoon out on a peice of cherry, first time trying bees wax mineral oil finish, well see how it holds up.

Looks very good. Should make your wife happy. Is the wax and oil a single mixture, or applied individually?

Very nice work. I want to have a go at a Celtic knot design this year some time.

The bee’s wax and mineral oil finish is a mix I made by heating up the wax and mixing in a generous amount of mineral oil until it turned into a paste once cooled, then rub it into the wood a few times.
And Brit I would recommend trying a Celtic knot especially if you have a scroll saw, its probably the easiest thing to carve with the most rewarding look once your done, and they are alot of fun and a great skill builder.
