Another X-mas present I made this year. This one is for my parents Lake House. The same place where my Bamboo Table is. I really wanted to do the base in an anchor or 4 pronged fish hook shape. However, I couldn’t get it to stop wobbling because of the rounded edges on the anchor/fish hook. I instead switched to the base you see because of time constraints, I only had a few days to get this done. This is the first time I used this type of finish and I love it because finishing is a weak point for me. I used all pine and stained it mahogany brown from general finishes. I then went over the top and lightly and randomly used white, teal, and red brush strokes. I then did several coats of poly acrylic and buffed it with a paper sack. I am very pleased with how it turned out and it didn’t cost me anything since everything was scrap wood and left over finishes from other projects.
