This was a project I built for my mother. She had an awkward space to fill in her LA Apt. so I designed it to fit in with her current furniture and in the space provided. All the sticks are either Mortise and tenon or half lap. The piece had to be stained and finished before final assembly and the shelves are adjustable but fixed within the unit. It was made entirely from Red Oak. It is hard to tell but I kept the order of the sticks as they were cut from wider boards so the grain flows through the different panels.

Much work,, nicely done and although I can’t see the continuity of grain across the pieces I can appreciate the effort..

Great job! I especially like the curved tops on the sides. I’ve always liked adding a few curves to the craftsman style. I also like the fact that you took the time to pay attention to the grain.

That is a lot of joinery to deal with. I am in awe of your patience and perseverance.
