Hey All, I actually started this project because I found two neat looking curly oak boards and wanted to showcase them. This was also an adventure in hand cut dovetails. I have only practiced on a few, so I think these turned out pretty nice. I welcome any comments, good or bad. I would like another set of eyes to enlighten on what I could have done better. thanks for looking.

Nice wood. Your hand cut dovetails are a helluva lot better than mine! I really respect the courage that took. What was your finish?

I have never seen curly oak….WOW! Man, what a hard wood to cut your teeth on dovetails with. I bet your sawing arm was tired.

Great job, as most of the others has already said I did not know there was a curly oak. Where did you find such wood like this?
Again a great job.

Don’t you just love it when a tree has been cut properly. Great use of a very fine wood.
