Nice looking lamp. Are there vents in the top somewhere for the heat to escape that the bulb creates?

No Vents as such, the top is removable so there is a small gap running round where the lid meets the body, plus its a low energy bulb which doesn’t generate much heat.

Great looking lamp. I love the design. Can you please elaborate on the material you used for the glass?
Keep up the good work, and thanks in advance for the information.

Nice. I’ve seen lamps with a lighted base that operates independently from the light under the shade.

RobH,
The glass is from a UK based site that supplies glass for use in stained glass projects, Its not cheap but they sell in small amounts. These places tend to have a huge selection both of colours and of styles.
Captain Skully,
This was ment to be one of those lamps. Its from a book on Arts and Crafts furniture, i changed my mind half way through.

I make a simmilar lamp that used a 25w. bulb. now I can get CFL bulbs that produce much less heat. No more overheated light fixtures!
