Decided to give 2015 a good send off, so I got a spruce log about 37 inches long and decided to morph it into a “Shoe Tree”. I didn’t want a pile of individually carved boots but wanted to leave the log and boots as a family. So I commenced the project by cutting out hunks of wood which could be carved into a series of ‘Roman style’ work boots.

Once the boots were carved I then had the job of reassembling the log. They all do fit into the cavities from which they came. My next hurdle is to refine the carvings for finishing, re-mounting them and refining the wooden hollows and make a mount to hold the log upright, thus completing the Shoe Tree!

Did someone say that I need a Doctor!!! Hope this project will be resolved in 2016. Thank God for the Leap Year, I may need an extra day to finish the ‘SHOE TREE”.

Until next time, Tata and goodnight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Roman this looks like a very tricky piece of “deconstruct & reconstruct” in the making if I have it right, don’t hold us in suspense toooo long for the next update.
